Soest’s town centre has character, tradition and a reputation that extends well beyond the region. The All Saints’ Fair and Christmas market are not the only events drawing visitors from across Germany. Successful partnerships between retailers, brands and Brockhoff also help keep the centre vibrant. For 38 years, Brockhoff has leased retail units in prime 1A locations in Soest and sold commercial buildings, contributing to the city’s long-term development.

With Brockhoff’s support, many well-known chains have established a presence in Soest. KIND Hören & Sehen, Vodafone, Müller Drogerie, eyes + more and Siebrecht are among the brands we have successfully brought to the city’s prime 1A locations. We also successfully sold the commercial building now occupied by eyes + more before the retailer moved in. We currently have another mixed-use residential, office and commercial building for sale in a prime 1A location in central Soest and are already in promising discussions with serious prospective buyers.

Most recently, Brockhoff brought the well-known cosmetics brand RITUALS to Soest town centre. Thanks to a long-standing relationship with the owners on the shopping street, the lease was quickly agreed:

Successful optician Brillen Rottler had been based at Brüderstraße 22–23 for many years. As the business grew, the premises became too small; it needed more room for customers and demand. After a swift, carefully matched introduction by Brockhoff, the move was on: boxes packed, and across the street to Brüderstraße 25, with more than twice the sales area. Brockhoff had also brokered the sale of this property to its current owner in a very short time.

“It is a pleasure to support our clients as they grow. The move was the natural next step, and of course we were there to help,” says Bert Pfeffer, retail expert at Brockhoff.

The move freed up the former premises at Brüderstraße 22–23. Brockhoff was able to put its strengths to work: thanks to long-standing contacts and in-depth market knowledge, we secured RITUALS Cosmetics, an internationally renowned lifestyle brand, as tenant. “RITUALS brings international flair and a new appeal to Soest. It is a win not only for the brand but for the entire town centre,” says Pfeffer.

The successful re-letting to RITUALS also shows that commercial buildings and retail units in prime 1A locations in attractive towns such as Soest are in demand again. More and more brands are seeking high-quality space in central locations. Demand is rising and the number of prospective tenants is growing—a strong sign that town centres are recovering when they offer the right mix of shopping, events and dining.

“We can clearly feel that the caution of recent years is behind us. Many retailers want to establish a presence again and are upgrading their space in prime locations,” says Pfeffer.
