Aurelis, a real estate company, has further expanded its North Rhine-Westphalia portfolio by acquiring two logistics properties in Essen and Dortmund. The assets are located at Nünningstraße 1 in Essen and Martener Hellweg 39 in Dortmund. Both were sold by Hörr & Hörr Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, Essen.

Brockhoff & Partner acted as broker and adviser to the seller. The Essen property at Nünningstraße offers a total of 18,635 m² of lettable space. The property at Martener Hellweg in Dortmund has 10,900 m². Most of the space at both properties is used for warehousing and logistics.

J.W. Zander GmbH & Co. KG, a long-standing tenant at both locations, will remain on site with its offices, showrooms and self-service collection warehouse. The warehousing and logistics operations will be consolidated at a new 30,000 m² central warehouse in Bochum acquired by the Zander Group. The company will therefore vacate its logistics space at the existing locations during the year. The Zander Group is one of Germany’s leading wholesalers in electrical, heating and plumbing supplies. “We expect to re-let the vacated areas quickly, since logistics companies are increasingly looking for space in these districts because of their proximity to city centres and excellent transport links,” says Michael Buchholz, Head of Asset Management at Aurelis Region West.

Over the past 5 years, Aurelis has acquired 21 corporate properties in North Rhine-Westphalia alone. Further acquisitions of corporate properties in metropolitan regions are a core part of Aurelis’ corporate strategy.
