In 2010, Brockhoff & Partner was commissioned to market the former Aquella site at Berliner Straße 50–62 in Bochum-Wattenscheid for redevelopment. Bauhaus had outgrown its existing store in Bochum, and decision-makers at the specialist DIY retailer showed strong interest in the 50,000 m² site. It enjoys a prime location directly beside the A40 and is within walking distance of Wattenscheid’s town centre. Numerous discussions were held over the years with the owner and the city, and several obstacles had to be overcome. The contracts with Bauhaus AG subsidiary Cosmos have now been successfully concluded. The project can proceed once the city grants final planning approval. A modern Bauhaus store will then be built in Bochum-Wattenscheid, helping to significantly improve the location. The seller is Hedego-Beteiligungsgesellschaft.
