Refurbished existing properties in good locations are popular office destinations. This is clear from the successful marketing of the former RAG headquarters, redeveloped as Bauknecht Quartier by BAUKNECHT IMMOBILIEN.
Behind its listed façade, more than three years of renovation have created energy-efficient, modern office space in a prime city-centre location.

Brockhoff advised Emscher Lippe Energie GmbH on its lease of 850 m² of office space, securing another renowned tenant for the 15,000 m² complex. The property, originally built in 1954, is now almost fully let.

“For us, property is more than concrete and steel. Once all refurbishment work is complete, Bauknecht Quartier will provide around 1,500 jobs in a state-of-the-art environment and have a positive impact on Bottrop city centre,” says Garrit Bauknecht of BAUKNECHT IMMOBILIEN.

Madeleine Blazevic of Brockhoff confirms that investing in existing properties in good locations pays off: “Energy-efficiently refurbished buildings are an alternative to new-build space and will attract even more attention as construction activity remains limited.”
