In an interview with Immobilienmanager, Eckhard Brockhoff talks about handing over his successful brokerage company to Austrian group Soravia. After running it for many years, Brockhoff decided to put the business in other hands once it became clear that succession within the family would not be possible. His children had different career interests, opening the way to finding a suitable successor in Soravia.

Brockhoff recounts the conversations that led to working with Soravia and describes the process as harmonious and strategically sound. Soravia acquired a substantial share of the company and will increase its stake further over the coming years. Julia Winteroth, a long-standing co-managing director, remains with the company to maintain the relationship with Soravia and support the integration.

Brockhoff reflects on his decision to step back from day-to-day operations, while emphasizing that he never really wanted to “close the book.” His focus is now on managing his family office and participating in new projects. He remains active in real estate, albeit in a quieter role.
