The EBZ Business School Council has a new chair: Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bock, President of Bochum University of Applied Sciences, has been appointed by the institution’s sponsor and will lead the council for the next two years. Eckhard Brockhoff, Managing Partner of Brockhoff GmbH, was elected deputy chair. “I am delighted by the trust placed in me,” says Bock, a member of the EBZ Business School Council since 2009. “It motivates me to continue advancing education and actively support the school’s development.” He will chair his first meeting on 22 May 2022.

Klaus Leuchtmann, Chairman of the Board of EBZ – European Education Centre for the Housing and Real Estate Industry, says: “Dr. Bock has long been actively involved in the council and brings an outstanding network.” Jürgen Bock graduated in economics and completed a doctorate. Since 1994 he has been Professor of Business Management and Organisation at Bochum University of Applied Sciences, serving as its president since 2016. His deputy Eckhard Brockhoff is a successful entrepreneur recognised nationwide and has served on the council since the university was founded.

Dr. Jürgen Bock succeeds Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Raschper, who had chaired the council since 18.11.2015. “The university has benefited greatly from Prof. Raschper’s many years of experience as chair, and I thank him on behalf of the entire university,” says Prof. Dr. Daniel Kaltofen, Rector of EBZ Business School.

New members of the EBZ Business School Council are Uwe Eichner, CEO of VIVAWEST; Monika Fontaine-Kretschmer, Managing Director of Nassauische Heimstätte Housing and Development Company; Diane Jägers, head of the equality department at the Ministry for Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Construction and Equality; Karsten Koch, Managing Director of Markus-Bau GmbH; Dirk Salewski, Managing Director of Wohnungsbaugesellschaft beta-Eigenheim GmbH; Prof. Dr. Susanne Staude, President of Hochschule Ruhr West; and Anja Surmann, Managing Director of Klimadiskurs.NRW.

The new council’s term is two years. Klaus Leuchtmann says: “We have attracted outstanding members who ideally represent business, politics, media and academia.” The council includes at least one member of the EBZ Foundation, prominent figures from business and public life, external academic representatives and members of EBZ Business School. It adopts the university development plan and comments on reports and evaluations concerning quality development and assurance, as well as research, teaching and study matters.
