(Mülheim, 28.02.2023). PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM is gaining another important training center for the Contilia Academy. Around 4 months after the Institute for Nursing and Health Professions (IPG) began its first course there with 50 nursing trainees, Contilia’s umbrella training brand is now significantly expanding its presence. Several education, professional development, and continuing education programs will be brought together across a total of 2,000 m². Brockhoff exclusively brokered the space in the west wing of the 65,000 m² office building.

“The site in Mülheim offers an atmosphere that is attractive for learning and working together. This makes us a more attractive employer. Established programs such as leadership development will also take place there in a special setting. And we have further opportunities to grow on site if needed,” explains Torsten Edelkraut, Head of the Contilia Academy, about choosing the Mülheim location again.

The new space will complement Contilia’s extensive education portfolio, which is already delivered across its health profession schools, hospitals and senior care facilities, as well as its commercial and technical departments. The idea behind expanding at Parkstadt is to bring education together in an attractive learning environment. The Catholic School for Nursing Professions Essen gGmbH (KKS) is also planning to establish a presence there. Alongside its main site in Essen, it intends to set up a branch at PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM with additional teaching and training facilities.

From a fenced-off industrial site to a vibrant center for science and education

The Contilia Academy’s expansion confirms the transformation planned by owner and developer SORAVIA Deutschland into a vibrant science and education hub. SORAVIA has 9 employees on site and is responsible for revitalization and the upcoming district development. In the education sector, Brockhoff—exclusively appointed by owner and developer SORAVIA to market the site—has already secured the Theodor Fliedner Foundation for PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM, with an operating site of around 2,500 m² and a nursing school of around 1,700 m². Hochschule Ruhr West has also established a new location in the complex, occupying 6,100 m².

Renovation of the existing building is progressing as planned, bringing new office space to market on an ongoing basis. Currently, spaces from 245 m² to 11,000 m² are available. “With the first students and office tenants on site, it already feels like a lively district. I look forward to seeing even more people bring life to this formerly fenced-off site. We are already in advanced discussions with prospective tenants who will add further vitality,” says Julia Winteroth, Managing Director at Brockhoff.

The modern tenant mix at PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM already includes companies from a wide range of sectors:

• A technology group will occupy 1,330 m² on the 5th floor of the existing 65,000 m² building.
• DEICHMANN, a family-owned company and leading shoe retailer in Germany and Europe, will move into PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM in July 2023, occupying more than 10,280 m² in total.
• VKK Standardkessel Service Köthen GmbH will establish a presence at PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM on 1 July 2023, with more than 1,800 m² of total space.
• St. Marien Hospital Mülheim an der Ruhr has opened a nursing school on site, occupying around 1,561 m².
• Hochschule Ruhr West will establish a presence at PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM with more than 6,100 m².
• At the end of 2022, the Theodor Fliedner Foundation opened a new operating site of around 2,500 m² and a nursing school with around 1,700 m² at PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM.
• The long-established TSV Viktoria 1898 Mülheim an der Ruhr e.V. opened its fitness and health center at PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM in 2022, occupying around 2,000 m².
• Wolfgang Grob, Tengelmann’s former head of security, successfully built his own security company, WSS GmbH, and leased around 1,100 m² in the former Tengelmann headquarters for it.
• The nearly 100-year-old Standardkessel Baumgarte subgroup (founded in 1925) relocated from Duisburg to Mülheim and leased approximately 8,000 m² of office and storage space in the well-preserved existing building on the park grounds, which was fitted out to meet the tenant’s needs.
