(Essen) 14 October 2012. The wait is almost over: the Rü62 office and commercial building at Rüttenscheider Stern in Essen will open in just a few weeks.

The scaffolding has already been removed, revealing the building’s natural-stone façade and bringing a fresh look to the district. Interior fit-out is progressing at full speed. The retail units will open first, in November, followed gradually by the office tenants. The entire property and the car park, with around 270 spaces, are scheduled for completion by the end of 2012.

New tenants at the Stern. KÖLBL KRUSE and Brockhoff have already secured leading brands EDEKA, Deichmann, Aldi and dm-Drogeriemarkt for the project. Another well-known name is now joining them: Knut Hannappel, who has successfully run his Restaurant Hannappel in Essen-Steele for almost 20 years.

He will open an upscale bistro on the building’s ground floor in November. Open from morning to evening, it will bring a selection from the classic “Hannappel menu” to Rüttenscheider Stern. Some dishes will be prepared in front of guests. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will also be available to take away. The bistro will have 24 seats, a mix of counter and standing tables, and additional outdoor seating in summer.

Another office tenant can now be named: von Rohr Patentanwälte will occupy around 1,600 m² on the 5th and 6th floors. One of the developers, KÖLBL KRUSE, is also so confident in the property that it will move its head office there.

More than 3,000 m² has already been let at Rü62. Units ranging from 230 to 960 m² remain available. An attractive location. KÖLBL KRUSE and Brockhoff see Rüttenscheid as one of Essen’s most attractive office locations. Together with the City of Essen, they prepared a new development plan for the building, which received a very positive public response after it was announced by the city administration.

Once construction is complete, Rüttenscheider Stern will be one of the district’s main retail destinations, supported by an attractive tenant mix, convenient parking and the appealing interior and exterior architecture of the new complex.
