Essen, 1 August 2022 – Leading real estate group SORAVIA has acquired Hotel Bredeney, a four-star hotel in Essen, together with real estate entrepreneur Eckhard Brockhoff, continuing its investment in the future of hospitality. The property comprises 18,900 square meters of lettable space. The hotel has 293 rooms, 15 technically modern, well-equipped conference rooms, 220 parking spaces, and EV charging stations. The seller is Düsseldorf-based Brune Group. The existing lease with long-standing operator Bredeney Betriebsgesellschaft mbH will continue.

Hotel Bredeney was designed by architect Walter Brune and built in 1972 on a plot slightly larger than 18,000 square meters. DEHOGA awarded the hotel four stars. Amenities include a 450-square-meter wellness area with a large swimming pool, Finnish and steam saunas, and a fitness area. The property is also within walking distance of Messe Essen. The exhibition center and Düsseldorf International Airport are each less than half an hour away by car.

Its proximity to two major trade fairs in the region, its attractive location in the south of the city, and its excellent transport connections all speak in favor of investing in this property,” says Eckhard Brockhoff, who has shaped the commercial property market for more than three decades and works as a leading commercial broker and investor. He adds: “Several former German chancellors, including Angela Merkel, have stayed at this hotel!”
