In Bochum-Wattenscheid, the former headquarters of Steilmann, once Europe’s largest clothing manufacturer, has been sold. The property comprises a plot of approximately 19,700 m² and lettable space of 12,900 m². For decades, the complex, built in several phases, served as the Steilmann Group’s headquarters.

Numerous companies and brands were based there. After the group was sold, its three subsidiaries have now sold the property they own through Brockhoff. The buyer is a company specialising in acquiring, developing and holding properties of this kind.

Parts of the building have already been converted and let in smaller units. Its location close to the A40, in one of Bochum’s most sought-after commercial areas, also contributed to the rapid marketing success.

Brockhoff has marketed properties of this type for more than 30 years and has sold seven former corporate headquarters. Most recently, it sold the former Tengelmann headquarters in Mülheim. Other transactions include the former Rheinstahl headquarters in Essen, the former Veba Oil headquarters in Essen, the former Coca-Cola headquarters in Essen, the former Vonovia headquarters in Bochum and the 200,000 m² Quelle Campus in Nuremberg, one of Germany’s largest properties.
