“Shaping new perspectives together” is the guiding principle of the Theodor Fliedner Foundation. Its work aims to bring people who need support into the heart of society, both physically and through appropriate services. Leasing two spaces at PARKSTADT Mülheim is an important step towards this goal.

The new address, Wissollstraße 5–43, will become a new site for Fliedner Workshops, replacing the current location on Weseler Straße. “Our new 2,500 m² education centre will be based here,” explain Sabine Halfen and Claudia Ott, board members of the Theodor Fliedner Foundation. “We want to bring participation to places that are suited to it,” says Daniel Möller, head of Fliedner Workshops. The campus concept is an ideal fit for the former Tengelmann site, not least because it is close to Hochschule Ruhr West. From 1 March 2022, 95 employees and 20 staff members will work at the new location.

New education centre at PARKSTADT

The Theodor Fliedner Foundation has also leased another space to complement the new education centre. Its nursing schools in Mülheim and Duisburg, along with Fliedner Academy, will also move to PARKSTADT. From 1 June 2022, almost 1,700 m² will provide 9 classrooms or training rooms and 2 demonstration rooms, with capacity for 300 students in general nursing training. “This creates new perspectives within the foundation’s long tradition of education, training and professional development,” say Sabine Halfen and Claudia Ott.

A great fit for tenant and landlord

“It is important to us to bring together tenants and landlords who are a good fit. The new space at PARKSTADT Mülheim is ideal for the Theodor Fliedner Foundation’s new site. The modern tenant mix is a good match, as is the option to adapt the premises to specific needs in consultation with owner SORAVIA,” says Julia Winteroth, project manager at Brockhoff GmbH, which was appointed to market PARKSTADT Mülheim.
