“We were especially happy to broker this property request,” laughs Brockhoff Managing Director Oliver Rottmann. Since the Lysegang daycare centre opened next to Brockhoff’s office, the Essen commercial broker has supported its friends’ association. This year, the young neighbours’ Christmas wish even has a real estate connection: two birdhouses with cameras, so the children can watch birds nesting in spring.

“Digital progress has reached daycare centres too. Each group has an iPad, which we can use in our daily educational work in a meaningful way and under a colleague’s supervision. We hope the cameras in the birdhouses will give the children a unique insight into how local bird species nest and raise their young,” explains Kathrin Schädlich, deputy head of the centre. The nest boxes should be installed in winter, well before the birds’ mating season, so they have time to accept them.

Lysegang daycare centre, with its integrated family centre on Engelbertstraße, provides care for 117 children across four groups.
