(Essen, 20.12.2021). SORAVIA is initially acquiring 41% of the shares in Brockhoff GmbH. Eckhard Brockhoff will remain the majority shareholder and lead the company as Managing Director together with Oliver Rottmann and Julia Winteroth.
Founded by Eckhard Brockhoff in 1987 and based in Essen, Brockhoff GmbH is Germany’s largest local commercial property agent and the real estate market leader in the Ruhr metropolitan region. In 2021, the company achieved one of the strongest annual revenues in its history. Developer SORAVIA has acquired 41% of the shares, with further acquisitions planned at a later date.
“There is no successor within my family. With my planned retirement in six years in mind, I want to establish structures early that provide security and a strong future for employees and business partners. I have had a friendly relationship with SORAVIA’s decision-makers for years and trust them to continue Brockhoff successfully without losing the company’s character to a large brokerage system. Everything will remain as it is,” explains Eckhard Brockhoff about his decision to sell shares to SORAVIA.

Our PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM project, acquired in 2020 and marketed exclusively by Brockhoff, clearly shows how well we can rely on Brockhoff’s extensive commercial-property network in North Rhine-Westphalia and across Germany. Our investment in Brockhoff also allows us to pursue SORAVIA’s growth strategy consistently in Germany, our main growth market, and expand into the commercial-property segment.”
Since marketing began at PARKSTADT MÜLHEIM, BROCKHOFF OFFICE has successfully let more than 40% of the total 65,000 m² of lettable space. Leases for a further 13,000 m² are close to completion.
